[edit] Renaming
Would anybody mind if I moved this article from the title "Creatures in Bionicle" to "Rahi (Bionicle)"? Drakhan 22:50, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
"Creatures in Bionicle"... "in" no, "of", and no problem. --Antidermis2319 11:51, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Advert
Krahka and Tahtorak images are bad quality. I try to search good image more than this. Antidermis2319 18:25, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Building Contest Winners
Currently, Wikipedia notes that Tahtorak is a contest-winning fan-designed model, but dozens more fan-made Rahi were included in the Rahi Beasts guide. Should I add "designed by" credits for these other Rahi, should we limit it to Tahtorak as the grand prize winner, or should we ignore the matter altogether and not give credits at all?
On a related note, I'm not sure we should provide pictures of the published fan-made Rahi; contest winners promoted in the Brickmaster magazine are one thing, but copying images out of the book seems like it could be a bigger copyright problem. That, and there are already a lot of images of Lego-designed Rahi; adding the fan Rahi seems like just too many pictures.
Whatever we decide here, for both credits and pictures, I'm going to apply to other building contest winners (Toa Krakua, most minor Dark Hunters, and the upcoming Piraka fusion). Drakhan 17:41, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Much these Rahi are minor caracthers in Bionicle world. Rahi are wildlife of Bionicle. Antidermis2319 17:49, 29 August 2006 (UTC) P.S.: found Dark Hunters pictures now are desnecessary: I upload.
All of these Rahi are created by same way of minor Dark Hunters builds.Antidermis2319 19:24, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- ...Huh? I don't think you understand my questions. I'm asking 1) Should we have sections saying which fan designed which Rahi or Dark Hunter; and 2) Do we really need pictures of all these minor characters, and is it even legal to copy pictures from a book?
- And I've actually found an answer to the second question: no, copying pictures from the books is not legal. I checked the copyright pages and they specifically say "No part of this publication may be reproduced in whole or in part, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means ... without written permission of the publisher." So I'm going to remove the pictures that were scanned from the books before someone gets in trouble. I'm sorry; you've been doing a great job getting pictures, but some of them just aren't going to work. Drakhan 02:34, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- Um, I could use some help. I found some other pictures for the Shadowed One and Sentrakh - promotional ones from toy packaging, not copyrighted ones from the book - but I'm having trouble uploading these new versions. You'll find them at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=89704&n=48. Antidermis, I think I've seen you replace images before; could you please try to upload these new pictures with the following summary:
-
- {{Promotional}} Source: [http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=89704&n=48 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=89704&n=48]<BR> Originally from packaging for [[List of Bionicle toys|Bionicle 2005 Titan sets]]. © 2005 The LEGO Group. All rights reserved.

- Thank you. Drakhan 16:35, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Talk this for the guys of Brickshelf (where I catch all images of Rahi and Dark Hunters). You known, I brazilian, and all these Bionicle books NOT RELEASED and NOT TRANSLATER here. Haven't a book, I search images in Web sites. I not known about this, but not problem. Do if you let better of articles. In Shadowed One and Sentrakh, and drop old images because the quality. Antidermis2319 17:43, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
P.S.: These articles are middle useless for not content images, you agree?
- I'm sorry, I didn't think of the fact that you wouldn't get the books where you live and therefore wouldn't know that some images are inappropriate. Again, you've been doing a great job getting pictures, much more than I would have done; and I thank you for doing so much.
- Though I'm sorry to say that again, I'm not sure what you are asking in your P.S. Could you please clarify? Drakhan 01:48, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
I means in P.S. as these articles, for me, are useless without images, or better, several images. Antidermis2319 12:36, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- First of all, let me say I'm sorry that I took so long to reply. To answer your question, I think that pictures are good but there might be a point where an article has too many pictures - but I don't know, which is why I asked for people's opinions.
- And I'm sorry to have to remove the pictures from the books again, but there are a few problems:
- First of all, they're not images specifically made to promote Bionicle, so when uploading you should be using a tag other than {{promotional}} (though I'm afraid I don't know what the correct tag is.
- Second, as I mentioned above, those pictures are copyrighted, and Scholastic (the book company) and Lego want to make sure that nobody copies images in their books without their approval. So we shouldn't be using pictures that have been copied from the books. I know you don't get the books where you live and therefore wouldn't know which pictures originally came from the books, but you really shouldn't have tried posting them again after I told you they were illegal. Drakhan 02:47, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh sorry, I unclearn about this. Antidermis2319 19:23, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Rahi of VNOLG
Can VNOLG is a Non-canon in storyline, why the Burnak, Gafna and Lava Ape as put in list of Rahi (the same value to Nektann, but in doubt, I put the types) ? Antidermis2319 20:30, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- Greg said that the Rahi, at least, in the VNOLG are canon. See post #6192 here. I also asked about the Nektann variations and he said they were canonical as well. (I'll be posting that to the Greg Discussion topic soon.) Drakhan 22:40, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
And the places, like the Cape of No Hope and Garan hideout, are canon? Antidermis2319 22:53, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know. I haven't asked; and as far as I know nobody else has either. Drakhan 03:01, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] What they're made up of
Yeah, I know, the title I chose for this discussion is stupid. Would anyone care if I added what sets the Rahi are made of? Example: The Dragon is obviously the Axonn, Brutaka, and Vezon/Fenrakk sets combined, so it seems that information should probably go somewhere. If anyone minds, please feel free to tell me why before you delete my stuff. YnoBluepages? 01:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- That information is already in the List of Bionicle toys. I think the articles should focus on storyline information; and I'm afraid if we add some toy information it could cause confusion - people might think that Kardas really is a fusion of Axonn, Brutaka, and Fenrakk; as opposed to an evolved Fenrakk that happens to have similar parts as Axonn and Brutaka. Drakhan 02:33, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess you're right. I don't know, reading this page seems kind of like it doesn't differentiate reality from fiction. But I'm no administrator, so I guess I should probably just shut up now. YnoBluepages? 20:55, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not an admin either, but you're probably right about how some real-life notes get thrown into all this storyline info without any warning. Something ought to be done about that; maybe putting the notes into their own section? We'll figure something out. Drakhan 21:32, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
