Rafiah Salim

Datuk Rafiah Salim (born in Klata, Kelantan, Malaysia) is the first female Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaya since 1st May 2006.

Rafiah Salim is presently executive director of the International Centre for Leadership in Finance (ICLIF) and had served as lecturer, deputy dean and dean at the Law Faculty of UM from 1974 to 1988.

Rafiah Salim, who holds masters and bachelor degrees in law from the Queen's University of Belfast, UK, has excellent service records in the public and private sectors and at the international level. She served as Assistant Secretary General for the United Nations (UN) Human Resource Management from 1997 to 2002, Assistant Governor of Bank Negara (1995-1997) and Human Resource General Manager with Malayan Banking Berhad (1991-1995).
