Rafael Gayol (born July 13, 1958) is a drummer. He is also sometimes known as Danny Rafael, including when he was a member of early 1980s alternative rock band Doll Congress, and when he was a member of BoDeans for two albums (1989's Home and 1991's Black and White.)

He has played drums with many artists, including Charlie Sexton, Shawn Colvin, and Kelly Willis.

Gayol was born in Mexico City but grew up in Los Angeles. [1] His influences range from Brian Eno to Hooverphonic and Massive Attack. 'Ambient Pop' has been a genre listeners have linked his music to. "I have always heard the music in my head as a motion picture soundtrack," he says, "Hearing it on the radio is nice yet seeing an image playing out to the composition will be an objective realised." Gayol began as a drummer/percussionist/vocalist recording and touring with such diverse artists as BoDeans, Sun 60, Charlie Sexton, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, Joe Ely, Kelly Willis, Bruce Robinson, Jon Dee Graham, The Flatlanders, Eliza Gilkyson, Bob Schneider, Billy Harvey, Robert Rodriguez, Patricia Vonne, Tonio K, Bascom Hill, Mason Ruffner, Trish Murphy, Robbie Robertson and A-ha. He is also the voice of Dell Computers Online, NASCAR.com, Southwest Airlines, Kinko's "on-hold", Time-Warner Cable, and Toshiba television commercials. As of 2005, he is the drummer of Tito & Tarantula.
