Rae Allen

Rae Allen (born July 3, 1926) is an American stage, film and television actress.

Born Raffaella Giulia Teresa D'Abruzzo in New York City, Allen won the Tony Award as Best Featured Actress in a Play for And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little. She had two prior Tony nominations.

Allen appeared in the original Broadway production of Damn Yankees as the nosy reporter Gloria and recreated the role in the subsequent film adaptation. Additional Broadway credits include Dude, Oliver!, The Pajama Game, Fiddler on the Roof, and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. She also sang the role of the Old Lady in a 1971 production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide.

Allen appeared in two Seinfeld episodes as unemployment insurance agent Lenore Sokol, who must deal with George Costanza when he tries to extend his payments. In exchange for granting him the favor, she arranges a date with her daughter, who is a younger version of herself. Additional television credits include All in the Family, Head of the Class, Hill Street Blues, Remington Steele, Lou Grant, The Sopranos, Joan of Arcadia, NYPD Blue, and Grey's Anatomy.
