F***ing good idea. ;-) --GraemeL (talk) 13:25, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Kitchener train station

The original proposal called for moving both VIA and Charles Terminal to the Victoria site; the addendum dropped the idea of moving the bus station, but the only reference to VIA in the addendum is the phrase 'It is important to note that the opportunity for interface with VIA Rail will be maintained in this concept.'

I suppose it's possible that they're thinking of relocating the railway to Victoria Station rather than Charles (which would probably be a sensible idea), but they still refer to a 'multi-modal station' in the singular rather than plural, and none of the documents I've seen say anything to suggest that they've dropped the idea of having VIA be part of this multi-modal station (although given the depth at which some of these documents are buried on the Region's web site, it's quite possible that there are documents I haven't seen). [edit] Wheelchair logo

Hi, the blue wheelchair logo you've uploaded (Image:Wheelchair.jpg) has been replaced with a smaller and cleaner PNG version (Image:Wheelchair.png). Therefore I've listed the original version for deletion. I've also fixed all the pages which use the logo to use the PNG version instead. Hope this is OK. Mysid (talk) 08:44, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] "Lost" page move

Hey, Radagast. (Great username, by the way.)

You recently voted in the request to move Lost (2004 television series) to Lost. That vote wasn't counted by the admin, since it came after the 7-day voting period was over, and the move failed to get the 60% consensus. There's now a new vote on Talk:Lost (2004 television series) to move the page to Lost (TV series). If you'd like to vote again, you'd be welcome! —Josiah Rowe 06:22, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimania meeting tommorrow

Hello, and thanks for signing up at Wikimania_2006/Toronto. It has been announced that there will be a half hour meeting on the Wikimania IRC channel tomorrow October 2, at 20:00 UST (4:00 pm EST) to pick the 3 city shortlist. It would be great if you could attend. Also these are our last hours to ensure that our bid at Wikimania_2006/Toronto is as good as it can be, so any improvements to it would also be useful. There are now four cities in the running, so tomorrow one is getting cut. - SimonP 20:53, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Amazing Race 8 roadblocks performed

Hey, It's okay to add a roadblocks performed in The Amazing Race 8. Please restore it back.

[edit] Toronto subway map

Yes, I thought of that shortly after uploading the new map. It didn't seem worth modifying it to show just the Blue when the Green and Orange lines were to be extended so soon, but when they do open, I'll add them all. I'm also working on an alternate map for the Lower Bay page showing the system as it worked during interlining. David Arthur 21:21, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks, and request for your feedback ...

First of all, thanks for your stupendous contributions to the Toronto transit articles. As a daily user of the system, it's enheartening to find someone who is somewhat removed yet more interested in the system than many to whom it's closer to home.

As well, what do you think of this map I recently created of the streetcar network? In the near future, I also hope to create discrete (and slightly more detailed) maps for each route. Your comments are invited. Merci beacuoup! E Pluribus Anthony 04:25, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Windsor-Detroit border crossing

Just FYI, I clarified your addition to the Windsor article a bit -- it isn't yet a formal government agreement; all that's happened so far is that the binational committee studying the issue endorsed this as their preferred option. The route planning and the government commitment to actually do it are still pending. Bearcat 22:56, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Yeah...I wasn't sure exactly what was being announced either until I read the Windsor Star article I added as a ref. My best guess is that there's still going to be a few years' worth of wrangling over the actual route plan before any construction really begins, though. Bearcat 05:37, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ottawa South

Do you know what's going on in Ottawa South? The article says that Barry Turner won the CPC nomination, but it was overturned, and now I see (thanks to you) that Allan Cutler is seeking the nomination. What happened to Barry? Ground Zero | t 18:47, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

All I know is that Cutler got the nod today; see [1]. I know nothing of Mr. Turner, I'm afraid. Radagast 19:02, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of Ikea locations

Sounds good to me. Please feel free to seed it with my list. I don't know about other countries, but town and country planning is an interesting field of study in the UK, and the siting of Ikeas (and the latest announcements about city centre Ikeas) are an important measure of this. Morwen - Talk 13:31, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School

Thanks, glad you think my additions are worthwhile. I personally never went to KCI (I graduated from another local high school). The school does make an interesting topic to research though. Cheers, JYolkowski // talk 02:23, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dia Duit

Hi there! If you're ever short of a few subjects to do, we'd be more than happy to see you at Wikipedia:Irish Wikipedians' notice board. There's not that many of us, and we need all the help and opinions we can get. Cheers!Fergananim 21:31, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Doctor Who DVD Releases

Do you really think it's wise to add the Tenth Doctor, when the DVD releases haven't been officially announced and the episodes haven't even been shown? --Jamdav86 18:24, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Move discussion at Lost

Hey, Radagast. I thought you might be interested to know that there's yet another Lost-related move discussion underway at Talk:Lost. This one is about whether Lost should be a disambiguation page (as it is currently) or a redirect to Lost (TV series), with the disambiguation content moved to Lost (disambiguation). Since you'd voted in earlier Lost-related move discussions, I thought you might be interested in this one. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 18:59, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimedia Canada

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 04:27, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Sayid's age

The year that the plane crashed is still unknown, so guessing his age based on year of birth would be speculation. Jtrost (T | C | #) 01:22, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

No, that would be an example of original research. Jtrost (T | C | #) 01:30, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orienteering

Please check out the map and the photos added. Are those OK? Dreg743 05:51, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

At least the map is GFDL in danish Wikipedia. It's on there by the permission of the chairman of the club. Dreg743 05:20, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Beach redirect

You are quite right -- didn't know about the "move" function, but knew all about redirect. By all means, if you can get an admin to set that right, by all means do so. Captmondo 18:24, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Given the controversy over the name, achieving consensus through Wikipedia:Requested moves is the better way to go. I don't believe that the template that you have added to The Beach (Toronto) is necessarily the right way to go. This is a potentially controversial move, and there should be a discussion through Wikipedia:Requested moves before The Beaches is merged with anything. The loss of the edit history is only part of the problem here. Skeezix1000 20:10, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Martha Jones image

Hey, Radagast. I noticed that you uploaded a new image of Freema Agyeman in character as Martha Jones. Wikipedia has recently begun tightening the requirements for use of copyrighted photos under fair use, and now requires each uploaded image to have a specifically listed source and a specific rationale for why it can be used in the article. So you'll need to edit the image page with the URL for the BBC image source (is it [2]?) and a rationale, per Wikipedia:Fair use, especially the Policy section. I recently wrote rationales for all the images on the main Doctor Who page: you can see an example here. (I wasn't able to provide the specific sources for the old images, but it would be good if you did for this new upload.)

I think that if I didn't tell you this, OrphanBot would be along in a while to inform you, with fewer helpful pointers. I figured I'd give you a head start. :) —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 05:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia's LGBT Community

Hi, Radagast!
You've indicated through various means (a userbox, membership in a category, etc) that you are part of the Wikipedia LGBT community, or are interested in Wikipedia's LGBT related pages. Welcome!

You may not know that Wikipedia has both an LGBT Notice Board and an LGBT Studies WikiProject. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at both of them. They sorely need attention and participation!

Some things on the "To-Do List" that merit particular attention include:

  1. Identifying topics/pages that need attention
  2. Identifying problems that need addressing
  1. Adding the LGBT Template to appropriate pages
  2. Categorizing LGBT pages

Please feel free to participate in any or all of these activities! And if you feel like it, add yourself to either the Noticeboard Members or the WikiProject Participants - or both!

Glad you're a part of Wikipedia - and Thanks! This invitation posted here by SatyrTN -- talk
Please remove it if you so desire.

[edit] Image:MemorialCross.gif listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:MemorialCross.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. Peter O. [edit] Image:Freema.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Freema.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Yamla 18:25, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Torchwoodt.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Torchwoodt.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from BJBot 17:43, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tyler Hamilton (musician)

A tag has been placed on Tyler Hamilton (musician), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ohconfucius 09:54, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
