User talk:Radaar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greetings!
My name is Ryan, and it's my pleasure to welcome you, Radaar, to Wikipedia! First of all, I'd like to thank you for joining the project, and contributing to articles and discussion. I hope you can continue to take part in Wikipedia, because we need more valuable editors like yourself.
If you are new and need some assistance, here are some great links to check out:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia are the primary goals and most important rules that we follow.
- These help pages are important if you'd like to learn more about specific processes.
- The tutorial is a hands-on approach to learning all about editing.
- For a "crash course" in editing, head on over to Redwolf24's Bootcamp!
- Writing a great article is a noble accomplishment. An article you start might end up on the Main Page!
- The Manual of style is an in-depth group of pages that will teach you how to make articles look their very best.
I hope you enjoy editing here, and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, find out where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Before I go, here's one more tip. When you post on talk pages, be sure to sign your name and the date by typing four tildes: ~~~~. That automatically generates your username and the date. Again, welcome, and happy editing! --King of All the Franks 15:51, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Userboxes
Hey Radaar. Thanks for the question. I love feeling useful. I'd explain the whole userbox system myself if I thought I could do it justice, but you'd be a lot better off, I think, checking out WP:BABEL to start out and then maybe WikiProject Userbox for the more "advanced" (i.e., fun) boxes. Good luck! Dave 01:06, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dia Duit
Hi there! If you're ever short of a few subjects to do, we'd be more than happy to see you at Wikipedia:Irish Wikipedians' notice board. There's not that many of us, and we need all the help and opinions we can get. Cheers!Fergananim 21:25, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Jewelstaite.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Jewelstaite.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 22:54, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use images
Hi Radaar. I notice that you're using fair use images on your user page. However, use of fair-use images is not permitted on user pages - please could you remove them? Thanks, CLW 22:36, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Fair use images are copyrighted images used on Wikipedia under the terms of fair user - check the images on your user page and if the licensing tag includes the words "fair use", you shouldn't be using them on your user page - these are only licensed for use in actual articles. CLW 16:52, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hannah as 09'er
You're right, on that criterium she is... I was more thinking of it as the group people run with at school, but thinking back to first season Veronica only classifies 09'ers as the rich people, although there are characters that blur the distinction; Jackie is wealthy but completely rejected by the 09'er crowd, while Veronica was one of them pre-1st season while her father made what must have been a reasonably humble wage as town sheriff. - dharmabum 20:48, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Speedster?
When was it stated that Thomas Shepherd chose the name Speedster? --DrBat 20:01, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not disputing you. I just want to know what issue or news source said he was Speedster. --DrBat 21:33, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm still interested to hear this. --Chris Griswold 05:05, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I was misinformed. I'm sorry.--Radaar 16:46, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:AaronEcholls.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:AaronEcholls.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:04, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:ADWars.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:ADWars.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.98.101 08:52, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:GriffithHannah.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:GriffithHannah.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
