Radio Zamaneh

Radio Zamaneh is an Amsterdam-based Persian language Radio.

Radio Zamaneh is a private broadcasting organisation, registered as a non-profit organisation in the Netherlands, with headquarters and studio in Amsterdam. Radio Zamaneh broadcasts in Persian via short wave, satellite and the internet.

The aim of Radio Zamaneh, according to its administrators, is to produce and broadcast informative programs of high journalistic quality, independent from any governmental, political or social force inside or outside of Iran (Persia).

The radio runs under the directorship of Mehdi Jami, a prominent Persian (Iranian) journalist formerly associated with BBC's Persian Service.

Persian-Dutch politician and MP, Farah Karimi, was among the founding members of the media.

Radio Zamaneh is broadcasting its test transmission from August 4, 2006 and officially from early September.
