[edit] Please respect copyrights

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Adam Polkinghorne article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I irrevocably release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, for use on Wikipedia and elsewhere."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 10:31, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Additionally, the following articles were deleted for containing copied material taken in whole or in part from other websites, namely content-usa.cricinfo.com and www.tascricket.com.au:
  1. Adam Polkinghorne
  2. Andrew Downton
  3. Ben Hilfenhaus
  4. Brendan Drew
  5. Brett Geeves
  6. Chris Duval
Please do not submit any additional articles unless they are written in your own words. Thank you, Can't sleep, clown will eat me 10:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clarence, Tasmania

We appreciate your contributions to the Clarence, Tasmania article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. For this reason your edits have been reverted or removed. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the information in your own words, if you do please remember to cite your source(s). For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thanks, and in addition to this, I notice you have edited many other articles relating to Hobart's eastern shore. I haven't checked them for copyright violations, but could you check your edits and make sure there is nothing which will cause a problem? Thanks -- Chuq 20:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Links to disambiguation pages

Hi there, I notice you have created a few more articles about local Tasmanian landmarks. This is great, but you may not have noticed that Derwent River and Mount Wellington are disambiguation pages - they are lists of rivers of mountains that go by that name. These links will have to be fixed by others in the future, so it would be helpful if, when creating the page, you link to the articles Derwent River (Tasmania) and Mount Wellington (Tasmania). If you add a "|" after the "(Tasmania)" you will create links that point to the correct article, but do not show the "(Tasmania)", such as Derwent River and Mount Wellington. -- Chuq 11:55, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] unblock

This user's request to have the autoblock on their IP address lifted has been DECLINED.

$2

Insufficient information given to find the block. Unable to consider. -- Yamla 00:49, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Note: declined unblock requests may only be removed after two days or when the block has expired.
The information for this unblock is incomplete... we can't help unless all the info is there. ---J.S (T/C) 21:55, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

As J.Smith mentioned: We can't unblock you at this time, because you haven't given us the information we need to look into your block. You yourself were not blocked; if you were prevented from editing, you must have been autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. I'm removing your unblock request because there's nothing we can do without this information. If you are still autoblocked by the time you read this message:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are. If it isn't, try clearing your cache.
  2. Try and edit the Wikipedia:Sandbox by clicking here.
  3. Copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "Autoblocked?" section.
  4. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.

If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. Luna Santin 00:48, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I see that you are currently editing so I guess your block must have expired. --WinHunter (talk) 09:41, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the help to unblock - Cheers everyone. How do I get rid of the info about being blocked from my infobox on my user page? It seems to be invisible on my edit sandbox?!?

You had {{username}} in the sidebar; I've removed it for you. EVula // talk // // 15:50, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

{{helpme}} Can anybody tell me why my contents box sits at the bottom of my userpage?!? I have NOEYEDEER!

I'm not quite sure what caused that, but I forced the Table of Contents to the top of the page by adding __TOC__ to the wikicode. You can change the location of the Table of Contents by moving that command whereever you like. SWAdair | Talk 08:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Unilogo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Unilogo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:09, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cricket Project

Hello Rac Fleming. I saw your comment at WP:AUSSPORT. Unfortunately that project is mostly dormant. Feel free to join us at the cricket project, where there is also a quiz for a spot of fun. Thanks, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 23:15, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Fire Service

Hello, I was browsing WikiPedia and noticed that you are/were a firefighter. I highly encourage you to stop by and check out our WikiProject relating to the Fire Service around the world. We are in need of many editors and administrators to help the cause. Stay safe, Daysleeper47 19:04, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tas Project

Hi are you aware of the recently started WP Wiki Project Tasmania starting up? I have just been tagging the 10 highest mountains of tas article that you started (It needs a lot of work...) and have had a bit of a travel through your user page (the largest most revealing one I have found for a while...) and thought you might need to know about it! I used to live on the west coast for a while... many years ago (about the time you were 1 year old....) SatuSuro 00:47, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Newtown.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Newtown.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Cricket World Rankings

Hi, Just wondering where these rankings came from? I've been looking for something like this for a while (official ranking of associate/affiliate nations), but all I can find on the ICC site is the main table (test nations + kenya), and this page [1] ranking the top 6 associates. Andsoforth 03:34, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Can we please provide source for this rankings, or I'll have to put it up for deletion--Thugchildz 16:48, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tyro the Tiger

The article Tyro the Tiger has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might want to consider adding a line to the article on the team instead. NawlinWiki 19:02, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Hi there, I would appreciate it if you didn't refer to removal of content which you don't agree with as "vandalism". I removed the section and gave a legitimate reason in the edit summary - because it had not been updated for a long time and would obviously regularly become out of date. I trust you are going to edit this article after every single game and keep it up to date? -- Chuq 13:02, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
