Rachel Melvin (born February 9, 1985 in Elmhurst, Illinois) is an American actress.
Melvin graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in 2003 in Phoenix, Arizona where she was raised for much of her life. She has an older sister, named Jessica.
She landed her first acting job in the independent film, "Boo."
She is best known for her role as Chelsea Brady on the NBC soap opera Days of our Lives since May 2005. The character was introduced as Abigail Deveraux's (Ashley Benson) best friend. Chelsea was adopted by the Bensons as an infant and they raised her until their deaths in a car accident. DNA evidence proved that Chelsea was in fact Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Billie Reed's (Julie Pinson) long-thought-stillborn daughter Georgia.
Months before she took over the role of Chelsea (originally portrayed by Mandy Musgrave), Melvin appeared in five episodes as Georgia LaMarque, a French girl whom Bo and Billie had been falsely led to believe was their daughter. She and her dog were recently seen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, when she was randomly interviewed at a gas station for a segment.
She sings, and plays the electric red violin. A children's book is currently being developed by Melvin. She is a supporter of the American Diabetes Association for children, as well as many animal charities. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
Melvin has also guest-starred on Summerland, Jack & Bobby and 8 Simple Rules.
