Rachel Marsden

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rachel Marsden (born c. 1975) is a Canadian conservative political columnist and a regular panelist on the Fox News show Red Eye.[1][2]

Marsden is the Canadian correspondent for The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, and has written for several publications. As of 2007, she wrote a weekly column for the Toronto Sun. Her website states she is the president of a "public relations, lobbying and communications business".[3] She holds a bachelor's degree in biosciences and French from Simon Fraser University.[4]

In 2005, a Conservative Party of Canada organizer asked her to run as the party's candidate in the riding of Toronto-Danforth against New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton. The organizer later withdrew the request, saying Marsden was "too high-profile."[5]

In the late 1990s, before her journalism career began, Marsden was involved in a sexual harassment controversy at Simon Fraser University.[6] In an unrelated case, in 2002 she was charged with criminal harassment and given a conditional discharge with one year of probation.[7][8][9]
