RAAF Base Richmond is one of Australia's oldest surviving air force bases. It is located within the City of Hawkesbury in the north-western fringe of Sydney, between the towns of Windsor and Richmond.
A military flying school was established at the site on August 28, 1916. Today it is the Royal Australian Air Force's main base for its C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
RAAF Richmond is home to Australia's Airlift Group (HQALG) and various Units from other Groups.
