Raúl Alexander Chávez (born March 18, 1973 in Valencia, Carabobo State, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball catcher currently in the New York Yankees minor league system.
Previously, Chávez played for the Montreal Expos (1996-97), Seattle Mariners (1998), Houston Astros (2000, 2002-2005) and Baltimore Orioles (2006). He bats and throws right-handed.
Chávez is known for his defense, and is considered to call a solid game.
In a nine-year career, Chávez is a .212 hitter with 4 home runs and 40 RBI in 170 games.
