Raúl is a Spanish name from French origin: Raoul. The French Raoul is believed to come from the germanic name Rad-Wulf whose translation is supposed to be close to Wolf-Advisor or wolf's advice. Rodolf, Raymond and Roland share the same origin with Raúl.
