[edit] Son?

I highly doubt his son still lives with him, as he is in his late twenties now.

A librarian once told me that the Goosebumps books were written by many authors, and that the R. L .Stine title was a pseudonym covering all of them... a lie, I presume? Saccerzd 20:13, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

The Goosebumps books were all written by him, but the Ghosts of Fear Street series was written by several other authors and published under his name. --Dleav 13:52, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
LOL! I bet librarians loved saying that, since I'm sure they hated the Goosebumps books. Someone once told me that Christopher Pike IS R. L. Stine, but that appears to be false. Madman Marz 05:25, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] copyvio?

this page reads like it was taken from somewhere else. it definitely feels like a magazine article and not an encyclopedic article.

Directly from the R. L. Stine web bio on his site. I'll fix it.--Dleav 02:08, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I just removed the copyvio. Sorry for not leaving a note here. Cowman109Talk 02:09, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

I concur. It reads like the bio found at the

Fback page of his books. Also, there's no mention of the fatc that he created the television show "Eureeka's Castle" or of the various attempts to turn "Goosebumps" into a theatrical film.

The copyvio was removed as it was a direct copy from the R. L. Stine website, then was copy edited and cited. I do remember that Stine wrote for Eureka's Castle, but I didn't know how to work it in and I have never heard of Stine trying to make Goosebumps as a film. If you can add it in and verify it, please go right ahead. That's what wikipedia is for. --Dleav 12:49, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adult horror novel

In addition to the countless children's books, R.L. Stine has written at least one novel for adults called Superstition, which was in the New York Times bestseller list for awhile.

It's been listed in his book list, I just haven't made the distinction in what the novel was about. Please sign your comments with four tildes in the future, thanks. --Dleav 13:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 149 Books

I chalked it up in the list of Goosebumps books. Counting Give Yourself Goosebumps and all the other books, he's written 149 books. I'd say thats fairly remarkable FinalWish 05:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Early Life"

Looks like someone has a grudge against R.L. because I highly doubt the claims of him being gay and loving pie.

Perhaps he does like pie, but probably not to that extreme. Dleav 03:27, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
