Prof. R.Bindu is the mayor of the city of Thrissur, in the Indian state of Kerala.

She is also a selection grade lecturer teaching at Sree Kerala Varma college, Thrissur. In the elections to the local bodies of Kerala, conducted in September 2005, she contested as a candidate of Left Democratic Front, which is pioneered by the party CPI(M). She is married to Mr. A. Vijayaraghavan.
