In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, Rómendacil I was the eighth King of Gondor.

Rómendacil was born as Tarostar, the son of King Ostoher. As crown prince, he rode against the Easterlings and defeated them. After the victory he renamed himself to Rómendacil, meaning "East-victor", under which name he succeeded his father in 492 T.A. However, his hard-won peace was not to last forever: fifty years later, in 541 T.A., the Easterlings invaded once again, and he rode to meet them in battle but was slain.

He was succeeded by his son Turambar.
