From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rânca is a a recently developed Romanian resort, located at 1,600m altitude.

Only 12 kilometers far from Novaci, after passing on the Transalpina (DN 67C) road through the marvelous landscapes of the Parâng Mountains, one can find himself where the trees seem to almost touch the sky, surrounded by mountain peaks and tremendous beauty. From this place you can have a view of the Parângu Mare peak, and when the weather is good, you can even see far over the mountains the Peleaga peak of the Retezat Mountains. During the winter there are two ski slopes with low and medium difficulty.

Here one can find all kind of accommodation from hotels to small family business.
