Why? In Old Norse it is spelt Ran, the acute accent above the letter A is a modern addition. Kindly revert it back. 81.77.53.161 12:05, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

The vowel is long in Old Norse and that's what the acute accent indicates. Accents are sporadically used to indicate vowel length in the medieval manuscripts and regularly in standardized Old Norse spelling. Haukur 12:19, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
