[edit] Edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. -- JHunterJ 19:07, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yeomanry DG link

Hello, I thought I'd let you know that the link you posted to the Yeomanry discussion group on the Randy Richards page only goes to the main page, not the post where he was banned. If you could find that post to back up the statement, it'd be great.--Robbstrd 20:28, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

To see the post requires membership, should I copy the post on to the site?Quode 20:32, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
I think that would be fine.--Robbstrd 20:40, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] sockpuppet tags

Hi. I noticed that you put a number of sockpuppet tags on user pages related to Cryogenesis. First, I'd like to point out that you did not follow the correct procedure when opening a sockpuppetry case since the section is not displayed properly on that page. You should fix it. But, that technicality notwithstanding, I am worried that you are making this too much of a personnal affair. Mind you, I have also lost my cool in the last few days (as you noticed) about this user's behaviour but I had never hear of Randy Richards before last week which at least makes me an outside neutral observer of that man's actions. On the other hand, it is my understanding that you do know Mr. Richards in real life and that he may actually know you also. That makes it much more delicate and there are a few occasions [1] [2] where you have clearly crossed the line with respect to civility. I think it would be wise for you to take a step away from all this controversy, start editing articles that you care about and let the rest of the Wikipedia community handle the rest of it. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 01:52, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

PS: I will post the same sort of message on the talk page of Robbstrd (talk contribs) to whom the same sound advice probably should be offered. Pascal.Tesson 01:52, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
In any case, good to know you'll stick around. There's loads of stuff to do that's more interesting than fighting Randy Richards. Pascal.Tesson 04:02, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Uh...hi

Not sure how this works here exactly, yet, but thanks for the welcome.

Seems counter intuitive, insofar as communications are concerned.

Anyway, thanks. Good to know some folk as I come over, y'know?
