[edit] Background

Taylor Muse played in numerous bands for many years, notably a brief stint in Eisley. Most recently, however, Taylor headed The Connotations, based first in Tyler, then later in Nashville. The Connotations released one song on a compilation put out by Mono Vs. Stereo, however without much success, the group decided to move to Austin.

Once there, the band recorded a demo called Shine Honesty, however shortly after mixing was completed, the band broke up. Afterward, Taylor wanted to put together a collection of recordings highlighting his musician friends, however, with the help of friend Alex Bhore of the band Stellamaris, he ended up recording what became the "new version" of Shine Honesty, featuring five of the six songs found on the original, in addition to seven new songs.

The album was later remixed and released by Northern Records on March 21st, 2006.
