Quidam, composed by Benoît Jutras, is the soundtrack to a live show presented by Cirque du Soleil.

Described by one reviewer as a blend of fast-paced European carnival/Mardi Gras-esque electronic rock mixed with instrumental music that has a dash of continental influence, it has undergone several changes and additions, including new songs to go along with the show's ever-changing acts, new cover designs, and higher quality sounds.

The original CD was released on 14 January 1997, featuring the voices of Audrey Brisson-Jutrás and Mathieu Lavoie, except for two bonus tracks sung by Audrey Brisson-Jutrás and Richard Price on the extended CD released in 2001 (recorded live in Amsterdam, 1999).

[edit] Music Book

In 1997 Publications Chant de Mon Pays Inc. published a 28-page sheet-music book (ISBN 2-921124-87-4) entitled simply, "Quidam: Cirque du Soleil" by Benoît Jutras, the composer. It only contains six songs from the soundtrack:

  • Marelle (music and lyrics)
  • Zydeko (only music)
  • Let Me Fall (music and lyrics)
  • Innocence (only music)
  • Seisouso (music and lyrics)
  • Quidam (music and lyrics)

Jean-Francois Brissette wrote the transcription for piano and voices.

Jim Corcoran is credited with the lyrics to "Let Me Fall" and "Quidam".
