[edit] Montreal propositions

The Montreal propositions have been reviewed for spelling and grammar by Montrealais. You are invited to have a look at them here:

Unless someone has a major objection, I will submit it for discussion by the Wikipedian community this week.

[edit] Featured articles

What are the featured articles related (even in a small way) to Quebec, if any? --Liberlogos 05:55, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Quebec Wikiportal

After a bit of time crafting it with love and affection in a personal "sandbox", I announce that I have just put to life the Quebec Wikiportal. I hope you'll enjoy. ;-) --Liberlogos 02:16, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Labelle for deletion

Labelle: I don't see what can save this article. It's not even one of the 10 (maybe not even 20) most common family names in Quebec. I'll be nominating it for deletion soon. Circeus 11:59, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Proposition: Major reorganization

I tend to think that this To-do list takes too much place on the page. I'd like to propose the page to be reorganized:

Only keep at the top a max of 10 "to create" articles (which are either cycled regularly or only when one is created) and 10 other tasks, and move all the "expand and complete" articles in the "issues" section, with more detailed explanations of what is needed. Unless there is opposition, I will be bold and do as such on Thuesday.

The To-do list will be kept to be linked from individual user pages ({{Wikipedia:Quebec Wikipedians' notice board/to do}}) or moved at the bottom of the page Circeus 19:37, Apr 17, 2005 (UTC)

  • I oppose it. I disagree with this planned ordeal. Please explain further or reconsider. Many notice boards have more tasks than the QWNB. This idea seems to complicate things, not the opposite. --Liberlogos 22:56, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Well, I tend to think that such big things are discouraging. Though I could easily produce stubs for just about everything, I find it discouraging. Reducing would give a sense that there is actual work being performed, at least in the creation department. At the very least, I am in favour of reducing the prominence of the to-do list on the page by moving it below the TOC. Circeus 23:05, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Interwiki collaboration

I have posted a message over at the fr:Wikipédia:Projet, Québec, French wiki about collaboration. Circeus 16:06, Mar 29, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Meetup

I wanted to let folks know that there's a Montreal Wikipedia Meetup Group which meets the first Monday of every month at 7PM. The next meeting is 14 Mar 2005 at Casa del Popolo on av St. Laurent. All Wikipedians welcome. --ESP 17:52, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I'd like to attend, but Mondays aren't good for me at the moment (also since I live in the West Island). Maybe some other time. --Comics 07:00, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Membership

  • Does one have to be from La Belle Province to be a member? Earl Andrew 05:42, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
    • I would not think so. But then, I didn't even plan for a member list, so... It's come and go XD Circeus 11:45, Feb 24, 2005 (UTC)
    • I would say not; I might even insist upon you joining, if we did such a thing. Anyone with respect for Quebec, sufficient knowledge of it, and a desire to help us, should be welcome. Having a member's list would be interesting. It might give an incentive to the people to join our work and keep coming back because of a feeling of belonging. It can create a community atmosphere and make this more fun. Finally, people speaking languages other than English or French could list their spoken tongues. I would like this page to help translation in other languages (especially in some Wikipedias where a Quebec article cannot even be found). An invitation could be written and a special list for it could even be made. --Liberlogos 08:35, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)
      • I agree that this board could be helpful in the translation effort. Mathieugp 20:01, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
