I'm Laurence Lau (not to be confused with the soap opera star), a college student attending Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.. I am a member of the class of 2008, and am double majoring in Information Systems and Business Administration. I am most recently from Queens, NY.

Wikipedia

I have an interest in contributing to Wikipedia because it lets me make a difference, helping to build one of the largest repositories of knowledge anywhere. Wikipedia is sort of like a new Library of Alexandria, a place where the sum of human knowledge can be stored, sorted, and disseminated.

What that means in terms of implementation is interesting, I'm generally an inclusionist. If something has the potential to be a full article we should keep it, someone will find it useful, and it costs us almost nothing.

I'm really annoyed by vandals, being a young adult, I'm really disappointed by the lack of maturity some of my peers display. I try to stay involved in lending a hand in the fight against vandalism and nonsense on Wikipedia.

My interests in contributing seem to revolve around the places I've been (e.g. Queens, NY, Archbishop Molloy High School).
