Location and Brief History
Located in the North End of Kingston, Queen Elizabeth Collegiate and Vocational Institute offers a variety of focus programs such as Creative Arts, Cover-up and Upholstery, Culinary Arts and High Performance Athletics. The high schools sports team is known as the Raiders, and were for sometime known as the "Red Raiders", until the name was dropped due to the name being taken as a racial remark. The original school colours were also changed from the traditional red, yellow and white to red and black, due to confusion created when Q.E.C.V.I played Sydenham in any high school sports.

During the 2004-2005 Rugby Season, Q.E.C.V.I what was considered a wonderful season bring home the KASSAA and EOSSAA championships. However, dispute arose when several of the players were caught with marijuana, forcing head coach, Reuben Burnett to ultimately force the team to forfeit.
Burnett Leaves QECVI
In early 2007, head coach Reuben Burnett accepted the head of the athletic faculty at LaSalle Secondary School. His leaving has shaken those who play sports at QECVI and might ultimately end the football program at the school.
