Priscilla:Queen of the Desert opened in Sydney, Australia, on the 7th of October, at the Lyric Theatre, in Star City Casino. Based on the Australian film, the show featured more than 20 well known Pop and Disco classics, including various songs from the 1994 film staring Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp. The new musical, Directed by Simon Phillips, stars Tony Sheldon, Jeremy Stanford and Daniel Scott, featuring Michael Caton.

Spoilers Three drag queens, Tick/Mitzi (Stanford),Bernadette (Sheldon) and Adam/Felicia (Scott), begin a long journey from Sydney to Alice Springs, on a bus they named "Priscilla-Queen of the desert" to perform at a casino owned by Marion (McQueen), Tick's/Mitzi's ex-wife. While on their journey the three are challenged by discrimination and face rejection on a number of circumstances, but are helped out by friendly "Woop Woop" resident Bob(Caton).
