[edit] Spam

Hi Quartet! You seem to have a particular interest in ridding Wikipedia of spam.

I'm afraid you're mistaken in a number of your nominations - although not incorrect with at least one about them needing speedy deletion (just for other reasons).

Please would you read this page which explains about spam on Wikipedia and how to deal with it. You might also like to join the WikiProject on spam to help fight the good fight. You'd be very welcome!

Please be aware that when new users appear and immediately start a crusade against something on Wikipedia, other users tend to smell a point being made and may start looking into the possibility of sockpuppetry by a disgruntled user who already has an account. To avoid that happening, please follow guidelines and also consider broadening your editing.

Thanks and happy editing! REDVEЯS 22:35, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Good stuff, and I thank you for the welcome. I realize that I won't be making many friends by nominating certain advertisements masquarading as articles for deletion - however I feel it will make Wikipedia a much more credible source of information that is untainted by corporate bias. [edit] Sockpuppet

I noticed them before when they did this. They have had a break for a while and as long as they stay off the personal attacks then I have no real problem. The only reason I blocked "BTA - `.33" was the fact that it was created almost as soon as "Burgz33" was blocked. I'll keep an eye out for any resumption of their personal attacks. Seriously. What is your problem? I make constructive edits, revert false edits, revert vandalism, contribute, keep track of pages, etc. You have other people that vandalize pages such as D.J. King's page, CONSTANTLY changing his height/weight. Yet, hes only be warned, never blocked. Me? I make a few constructive edits (Well over 100), call a stupid person stupid, and get blocked for a month. Please, watch for people who make vandalism, rather than people who speak the truth. Either that, or get a day job.  [`.Thirty Thr33]  (Talk)  00:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

You got blocked for a month for alot more than calling a person stupid. I strongly suggest you work on how you deal with other editors on here - even posts like the one above are openly hostile and could be considered uncivil. Please review Wikipedia's policy on civility and work on eliminating rudeness, petty and immature name calling, and judgmental tone in edit summaries. And when you are warned, don't mouth off to an administrator - your block should have been alot less than a month. I think you could be a great editor, but that doesn't excuse that type of behavior. Quartet
I was blocked for a day, and I could handle that, but then some tool named Swat Jester said I was STILL being uncivil, when I couldn't even edit, hence the new accounts. I'm not going to deal with someone who sees things that aren't even there. All I do is make constructive edits, when vandals get 100 "last warnings." I get blocked because people aren't that bright and get upset when somebody tells them the truth. Then theres people that stalk your edits and if you make a typo flip out on you. Like Kmr550 or something. I expressed an opinion on a talk page, I wasn't the only one, yet I got singled out. Its pretty funny, when you think about it.  [`.Thirty Thr33]  (Talk)  07:06, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
