"determinant" or "discriminant"? Search within Wikipedia seems to indicate that the latter is correct.


Seeing as:

  1. this article is fairly stubbish
  2. so is Quadratic equation
  3. I'm planning on writing up other methods of solving quadratics, namely factorization and completing the square

I'm planning on merging content from here into Quadratic equation and leaving a redirect. Does anyone have any objections? I'll leave this a week (note that a Wikipedia-Week, for me at least is more like a month...) -- Tarquin 16:37 Sep 9, 2002 (UTC)
