Quatsino, British Columbia

Quatsino' is a small fishing hamlet of 91 people off Quatsino Sound in Northern Vancouver Island, Canada. Its nearest neighbor is Port Hardy, about an hour south. The village is also known to have one of British Columbia's only still used one room schoolhouses, a two story wooden building built in 1935. Originally settled by Norweign and Finnish farmers, the village was a thriving community up until the 1940's. Since 2003 it has become increasingly popular for summer home and sports fishing lodge sites.
