Quartet-X

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quartet X is a South Korean string quartet, that performs contemporary classical music, experimental music, classical music, and pop music. Quartet-X seeks to update the traditional image of a classical ensemble through innovative programming, stylish presentation, and performance in non-traditional venues such as subway stations and other public spaces.

Their first performance included Schubert's Death and the Maiden quartet and Beethoven's Große Fuge performed from memory, as well as a reimagining and re-composition of movements of Beethoven's quartets that they call B9.
