Quality evolution chart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Quality Evolution Chart is a tool that helps document the needs and expectations of the ultimate customer - the consumer - and helps translate those needs into the operating conditions and specifications an organization needs to operate under to meet those expectations.

The QEC chart can come in many different formats. The basic format usually also includes a Process Control Strategy worksheet.
These tools can be used by Products Research to document consumer needs, by Product Development to outline and document their research plans, and by Engineering to document the equipment tolerances and setpoints. Manufacturing uses both tools to effectively operate day-to-day and to manage changes so that we always stay within the consumer's needs.
