TV.com summary

Quack Pack was an animated television series made by the Walt Disney Company. The show debuted in September 1996 as a part of the Disney Afternoon weekday afternoon programming block, and lasted for one season of 39 episodes.

The series centered around the adventures of Donald Duck and his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, who in this series were portrayed as teenagers. Other familiar Disney characters included in the series were Daisy Duck and Ludwig Von Drake.

In Quack Pack, Daisy was a reporter for a television news show called What In the World, with Donald as her cameraman. The nephews were portrayed in the series as typical teenagers, with appropriate accompanying interests. Huey, Dewey, and Louie in Quack Pack spoke in conventional voices, versus the "duck"-like voices they possessed in the earlier theatrical shorts, and also were given separate, distinct personalities (also in contrast to their earlier portrayals).

The tone of Quack Pack was overwhelmingly comedic and slapstick, a sharp contrast to the earlier "more serious" series featuring the Duck characters, especially the 1987 series DuckTales. Also contrasting with the earlier series was that despite Quack Pack taking place in Duckburg, the series almost exclusively featured human characters, with the Ducks as the only anthropomorphized characters to appear. Finally, there was no appearance or mention of either Donald's uncle Scrooge McDuck or Scrooge's money bin in this series; no explanation was given in the series for their absence. For these and other reasons, Quack Pack was met with criticism from some Disney fans.

After Quack Pack left the Disney Afternoon, it eventually resurfaced in reruns on the Toon Disney cable channel, but was removed from the channel's lineup, along with several other classic Disney shows, in November 2004.

The show's working title was Duck Daze, but was changed at the last minute to Quack Pack; traces of the earlier title were still reflected in the theme song (performed by Eddie Money).
