Qingjiang
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Qingjiang is a tributary to the Yangtze River. It is 423 kilometers long. Its drainage area is 17,000 km2. The Qingjiang empties into the Yangtze at the ancient city of Yichang.
The Qingjiang has three large dams on it, the Geheyan, Gaobazhou, and Shuibuya.[2] The Geheyan dam has a ship lift that can lift vessels of up to 300 tons displacement.
During the 1998 Yangtze flood the dam effectively held back the Qingjiang's flow.[1]
