Qincheng Prison

Qincheng Prison is a maxium-security prison in located in the Changping District northwest of Beijing. The prison was built in 1958 with aid from the Soviet Union and it is the only prison belonging to the Ministry of Public Security. Most of its inmates are political prisoners and among its inmates are members of the 1989 Democracy Movement. Famous inmates include Jiang Qing, Bao Tong and Wei Jingsheng.
