Qichun Snake photo comes from Professor Zhang, University of Wuhan, a professor of linguistics and a friend of mine (Frank Feather) in Hubei, sent to myself in 2004, after my visit in 2003. He says there is no copyright on this image. (I have reconfirmed this via e-mail with him tonight, Feb 15/06.) He re-affirms that he found it in an old Hubei magazine, published in 1963, which is now defunct. The image is considered to be in the public domain as the publisher of the magazine no longer exists. No permission can be applied for or obtained.
