Hello, my name is Luis. I am 16 years old and I will be 17 on February 27. I live in Inglewood, California. I first discovered wikipedia a while back through a friend. Ever since I've been hooked to it. I go straight to wikipedia first when I have to research something. I go on almost everyday in order to check for any updates or to see if there is any needed editing.
Now a little more about myself. Those who know me well know that I love playing guitar. I have been playing for about 4 years. I am self-taught but I plan to take lessons soon so that I can learn how to shred and improvise. My favorite music style is metal and my favorite band is Metallica. I practice by playing along with the older Metallica albums. I practice my endurance and alternate-picking a lot, especially with the Kill 'Em All album.
I am in a band with my friends John and Gabe. John plays bass and Gabe plays drums. We are a alternative/thrash metal band with some gothic metal/punk rock influences. We are just pretty much starting out since we are just now in the process of getting rid of our emo/pop-punk rhythm guitarist/voaclist Pat. I don't know if we're going to look for a rhythm guitarist/vocalist or just a vocalist soon or not, we still have to talk about it.
I began my music "career" in 8th grade when most of my friends joined the music group for the school Christmas Program. I felt left out so I decided that I wanted to learn an instrument. I started playing the bass guitar at first because it seemed easier than the guitar and I had to learn an instrument in 3 months. After the program, I began playing more guitar and the rest is history.
Anyways, I love spending lots of time with my friends from church. They are really great people and I've known them for my entire life.
People say that I'm a nice person and that I'm very mature for my age. I would say that I'm a shy guy, especially around people I don't know very well. But once I get to know them, I'm usually eager to talk and I am outgoing.
I dress and look like a regular guy but I consider myself to be a punk/metalhead/goth mentally. I like to rebel mentally a lot because independence is very important to me.
I am a senior in high school. I plan to go to either UC Irvine or USC to study aeronautical engineering. I plan to get a job as a designer at either Northrop Grumman or Lockheed Martin.

[edit] Musical Interests
I believe that metal is true music, along with classic rock. I completely despise hip-hop, pop, emo, pop-punk, and all the other crap music kids listen to these days. I want to make it my goal in life to show these kids what true music is. And some may think that metalcore is true metal, but in my opinion it isn't. There's just something about metalcore that I cannot stand. Metalcore and nu-metal are two music genres that shouldn't be considered metal. True metal stands with bands like Metallica, Children of Bodom, and countless others.
One day I hope to form a band and make some good music. Even though I might not become famous, just making the music I love and trying to show people what true metal is is good enough for me. Eventually one day, rock will return...
