PZL.19

PZL.19 was a Polish sports plane designed by Jerzy Dąbrowski and Franciszek Misztal of the PZL works in 1932. Ordered by the Ministry of Communications, it was specifically designed for the upcoming Challenge 1932 contest held later that year in Germany.

An all-metal dural monoplane low-wing craft, the PZL.19 had a fixed gear and was equipped with a 130 HP de Havilland Gipsy III engine. Despite its failure in the Challenge (which was won by the competiting RWD-6), it was regarded as a successful machine and took part in many international contests. Among them was the 1933 raid flown by Jerzy Bajan and Piotr Dudziński from Warsaw, through Kharkov, Leningrad and Lwów to Vienna.
