Pyruz Paayanezaad is a Persian pop singer, songwriter and a the former frontman of Black Cats.

[edit] Early career

He came to the US in 1977 to finish school but because he had a passion for music in 1984 he and his best friend Ebi Hamidieh started a band called "Shish O Haft" in San Fransisco. Although he had always wanted to be a drummer he picked up the guitar instead, he also began singing.

In 1987 Pyruz met Shahbal Shabpareh the founder of Black Cats he then moved to Los Angeles and became the lead singer in the famous Persian band. Together they released three much successful albums with many hits. Pyruz is considered the best singer Black Cats has ever had.

[edit] Solo career

Pyruz left the band in April of 1999 to pursue a solo career. His first solo album "New Love" became a bestseller with its single "Baby Joon" that became a smash hit. He released two more album that all did well and has had many hits like "Djembe", "khaastegaari" and "Setaareh Baroon". Today pyruz performs with his band "The Romantix", and lives in Los Angeles.
