Puttige

Puttige (Puthige) is a small town in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district(formerly South Canara) of Karnataka state in India. The place is famous due to the Puttige matha (monastery) belonging to the group of ashta (eight) mathas founded by vaishnava saint Sri Madhwacharya of Udupi.
