Pushpavanam is a small village located 55k.m away from Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu,India)in the south direction.

It has the history of about 80 years and a population of about 1000. It has one middle school, one post office and one ration shop. One new church is under construction. The Dedication of the church was scheduled on 30th of this month(Dec-2006).

Bishop of Tuticorin opened and dedicated the church to GOD. The fuction took place as scheduled and with full of colors. The Bishop was welcomed by the whole village people. Aroune 3000 (including people from nearby villages) took part in the function.

Some inmates are working in some major cities of India and also in abroad.Village's local festical falls between 22nd September and 1st October. It brings most of the village people to their home town together.

Panagudi is the nearest town to Pushpavanam. It is located in the NH7,53 k.m. away from Tirunelveli. Panagudi is famous among the southern districts of Tamil Nadu for its Bricks. Also Panagudi is known for its unique production of a musical instrument 'Harmonium'. It is rarely in use now. The keyboard replaced the instrument.

The nearby villages are Saidammalpuram( In west direction)Kadambankulam(In North east direction) and Thandaiyaarkulam( In South East direction). Thandaiyaarkulam is well known, because it is the native of one formar Minister of Tamil Nadu Govt.
