Feeder The Singles (2006) |
Pushing the Senses is British band Feeder's fifth studio album, released January 31, 2005 (see 2005 in music). Grant Nicholas, Feeder's lead singer described this album as more of an extension to their previous album "Comfort in Sound", than a new album of its own right. It's mellow sound is more akin to some of the more serene tracks of "Comfort In Sound", and as many believe, it is lacking in powerful melodies like in earlier hits such as "Buck Rogers" and "Just A Day".
The album however is Feeder's joint highest charting making #2 in February 2005,[1] and went Gold in a week like their previous album "Comfort In Sound".[2] Also in the UK the album shipped 200,000 copies come May of the same year.[3]
On Kerrang! Radio in 2005, Grant said about their magazine's review:
You know, being like brutally honest with you I was a bit p*ssed off with the Kerrang! review. I thought it was a very unfair review, and reviewed by the wrong person. If a different journalist had done it, we might have had a great review. I only cared about it as it was a magazine we've been with for a very long time.[4]
