Push the Button (Eurovision song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Push The Button or Kaftor Adom (כפתור אדום - red button) is a song by the group Teapacks, and has been selected by the Israel Broadcasting Authority to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland. The entry won by absolute majority winning the 20% televote, 20% SMS vote, 20% pre-vote and the 40% jury vote.

The song is already causing controversy since its lyrics are not typical of peace songs, and some say it imply about the threat of nuclear war, reflecting Israeli anxiety with Iran and its president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The song has already been featured in BBC news due to its content, and therefore, inadvertently, has become known in the United Kingdom.[1]
