Pure-FTPd is a free, highly secure and standard FTP Server that runs on multiple platforms. It is easy to use, secure, efficient and stable. It can be compiled and run on GNU/Linux, OpenBSD, NetBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris, Tru64, Darwin, Irix and HP-UX.

Pure-FTPd is based on Troll-FTPd, written by Arnt Gulbrandsen while he was working at Trolltech around 1995; it is currently developed by the PureFTPd Team lead by Frank Denis.[1]
