[edit] Debate of keeping/deleting the article of "Pulaski Academy" (consensus met)

Non-notable school entry. No real content. Zachlipton 01:52, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC) No teachers should be mentioned in such an article seeing that none are notable beyond the school community.

  • delete non-notable - Drstuey 13:12, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: No content, and it's incorrect. "Pulaski Academy is in Arkansas" is wrong, because there are multiple Pulaski academies. Lazy substub. Geogre 14:39, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • If you know of others, then why not set up disambiguation? Be bold! Factitious 20:35, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep as substub - David Gerard 20:47, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • delete non-notable. Gamaliel 20:54, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Notable. The correct method of fixing incorrect articles is to edit them, not delete them.Dr Zen 00:15, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Debate keeping/deleting "notable teachers" section (ongoing)

  • Keep Bill Topich and Aaron Cardona are notable
  • Add More of the many notable teachers and alumni in PA...We have many that went to Harvard and Yale who should be listed...
    • These Teachers ARE notable (note the emphasis), BUT the wording and the reasons for putting the teachers on there were not notable. In addition, there is no confirmation on if the teachers actually wanted their names on this site. --RPC (Peytonio) 00:06, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Bill Topich is notable for creating and maintaining Model United Nations. Aaron Cardona is notable for the no-cheating policy. --user:crazykid777
      • It is true that the teachers did not give their consent; however, I do not find it neccisary for them to give consent, as many famous and/or notable persons in the past have been noted in many encyclopedias, including wikipedia, without consent. There are currently no laws, within wikipedia or the United States which state that a person may not be listed without consent. The closest law relating to this is that the public internet is considered to be a newspaper; therefor, anything put upon the internet is to be equal to that of a newpaper. By the first amendmant of the US constitution, we have freedom of the press-to a degree. We may not put anything which violates a person in any way (i.e., we may not use profanity against them or insult them due to their race, gender, etc.). We are not violating our teachers. Rather, we are complimenting them. So, with or without their consent, we, in all legality, have the right to say how awesome-excuse me-"notable" these teachers are. --user:crazykid777
    • All teachers have a no-cheating policy, and Mr. Cardona's is just that way (the cutting up into little bits). It's not like he's actually going to slice some high-schooler for cheating; he'd report them to Honor Council, and then the student would probably get expelled. It was all in the wording. And Barrett.... dont do RPC (crazykid777)... that is solely my signature use... and RPC aren't even your initials... RPC is my initials...... that's the purpose...... --RPC (Peytonio) 23:51, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Excuse me...New to Wikipedia. Crazykid777 03:38, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Haha, don't worry... I'm not stuck up... I just wanted to scare you a little! :-) --RPC (Peytonio) 04:02, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
  • I'm All for having a Notable teachers section, but neither being a Harvard graduate nor having a no cheating policy are grounds for notability. Wikipedia has clear guidelines for notability that can be read on this policy page: Wikipedia:Notability (people) --The_stuart 15:09, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Debate of notable alumni to be added, kept, and/or deleted (ongoing)

  • Delete-Johnathon Luigs isn't notable yet...Make an article about him, prove he's a part of the arkansas razorbacks, and prove he's going to be a part of the NFL draft, and then we can consider adding him to the list of notable alumni. Crazykid777 16:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, I can scan in his 2004 PA senior photo, his arkansas razorback photo, his jersey number, anything... or I can let you read this article while I put him back on the site... --RPC (Peytonio) 04:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Questions

Is there such thing as a non-profit private school? Or is that just the day care?

  • Only the daycare is non-profit. I don't believe that a non-profit private school can exist, and if the article implies that, we need to edit it so it doesn't. Crazykid777 16:30, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
