Pulling pants
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Urban Dictionary defines "pulling pants" as "(British) The sexy underwear that you wear when you are out on the pull."
According to the Oxford-English Dictionary, "On the pull" is British slang for "intending or hoping to attract a partner, especially for sex."
A source in the UK explains further: "'pants' refers to underwear, not trousers. Hence, 'pulling pants' are the 'special' underwear some people go out with on a night in order to make their prospective 'lumbers' think them sexier than they would if they were just wearing normal boxer shorts or white-cotten (sic) knickers."
According to the Department of Health in the United Kingdom, 90 percent of girls and 70 percent of boys own a pair of 'pulling pants'.
Pulling pants have become a newsmaker in late 2006 with the British Government's campaign to promote condom use among teens in the U.K. One of the arguments in favor of increased sex education among British teens is the rising popularity of "pulling pants," which are marketed specifically for the purpose of arousing the wearer's intended sexual partner.
