Pule is a fictional holiday featured in the episode Holly Jolly Jimmy of the animation series Jimmy Neutron. It is invented by Hugh Neutron as a replacement for Christmas, which Jimmy had caused to be cancelled by accidentally scrambling Santa's atoms. Pule takes place on December 25th, supposedly proving that Pule was intended to be a true replacement for Christmas (compare with Festivus, which was only intended as a non-denominational alternative to Christmas, being celebrated on the 23rd.).

[edit] Origin
The word "Pule" is a portmanteau of the words "pie" and "yule". Hugh Neutron created the word based on his love for pie, and everybody's love for yule. After he learned that his son Jimmy had accidentally caused Christmas to be cancelled, he came up with Pule as a replacement.
[edit] Puley the Pule Duck
Hugh Neutron, while inventing Pule, also invented the legendary figure Puley the Pule Duck, the Pule equivalent of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and The Great Pumpkin. Puley was a product of Hugh's love for pie and ducks. Puley's name is an obvious derivative of the word Pule. According to Hugh, Puley the Pule Duck visits people's homes every Pule Eve and delivers pies to everyone. Supposedly, the good kids would get apple pie and cherry pie pie, while the bad kids would get mince pie (compare with Santa Claus giving presents to good kids and coal to bad kids).
[edit] Popularity
Pule, overall, was not all that successful, despite the clever and creative concept behind it. This was because when Hugh Neutron, dressed as Puley the Pule Duck, attempted to deliver pies to the good people of Retroville, he went through the windows of their houses, and stuffed pies down their stockings. However, this was understandably misinterpreted by the houses' occupants as a crazed burglar dressed as a duck, and thus Hugh was beaten up.
[edit] Pule Carols
There is one song related to Pule, called, Have Yourself a Happy Little Pule. The song title is undoubtedly based off of "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas".
