[edit] Background

John Myron (Pugs) and Kelly Mohr (née DeYoung) met as interns in Chicago in the early 1990s and worked as producers for Steve Dahl, later teaming up for their own show. In early 2000, Myron and Mohr filed a lawsuit against Steve Dahl for violating their right to privacy. Dahl had secretly recorded his then producers (and occasional fill-in hosts) making disparaging comments about him and he later played some of those comments on the air. Myron and Mohr alleged their private comments were the basis for their firing in 1999 and claimed Dahl illegally wiretapped their conversation. [1]

Working from Mohr's basement in suburban Chicago, they began brodacasting overnights to Dallas, Texas on KYNG (now KLLI) in January 2001. In October of 2001 they were promoted to middays, replacing The Ron and Don Show and moved to Dallas. Pugs and Kelly are famous within the industry for live-reads, or commercials that consist of live conversations with sponsors.
