Puey Ungpakorn

Dr. Puey Ungpakorn (Thai: ป๋วย อึ๊งภากรณ์, March 9, 1916 - July 28, 1999) was one of Thailand's most distinguished economists. He was Governor of (Central) Bank of Thailand 12 years, a Dean of Faculty of Economics and also a rector of Thammasat University in Bangkok.
He is the author of The Quality of Life of a South-East Asian : A Chronicle of Hope from Womb to Tomb or later known as From Womb to Tomb, which is still one of the most influential writings about social security in Thailand.
