A referendum will be held in Puerto Rico on 9 July 2007 to approve the necessary constitutional changes to turn the bicameral Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico into a unicameral legislature. If successful, the legislature would become unicameral with the next general election in 2008. The principle of unicameralism has already been approved in a referendum held in 2005.[1]
