Pueblo Libre

Pueblo Libre is a district of the Lima Province in Peru and one of the districts that comprise the city of Lima. Its name, which means Free Town or Free People, is an allusion to the nationalism shown by its inhabitants during the Peruvian War of Independence against Spain and the War of the Pacific against Chile.
The current mayor of Pueblo Libre is former TV news anchorman Ángel Miguel Tacchino del Pino and the district's postal code is 21.

The district has a total land area of 4.38 km². Its administrative center is located 90 meters above sea level.

According to a 2002 estimate by the INEI, the district has 80,384 inhabitants and a population density of 18352.5 persons/km². In 1999, there were 18,180 households in the district.
