Pud'n is a fictional character from the television series The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. He is a physically weak and easily terrified friend and classmate of Billy, Mandy, and Irwin who is often the victim and/or instigator of some terrible trauma, Pud'n is a red-headed, freckled, buck-toothed little boy who wears a hoodie and bursts into tears at the slightest provocation. He loves playing with dollies and many other "girly" things. He has a subscription to the "Super Mega Dork" magazine (as seen in the episode Substitute Teacher), and is allergic to pie. He is usually found hanging out with Billy and Irwin, being beaten up, or in class.
Pud'n could be a reference to the Mark Twain character Pudd'nhead Wilson.
[edit] Appearance
Pud'n first appeared in Recipe for Disaster although his name was not revealed until Go Kart 3000!)
He had a major role four times: The first was in Substitute Teacher, when he had a skeleton paranoia which occurred throughout the entire segment. He was frightened stiff twice: first upon seeing the biology skeleton in the toilet and then when he saw Nergal Jr. attacking Ms. Butterbean; he then ran into the janitor, first going down the stairs, and then out the window. At the end he finds Ms. Butterbean taped to the ceiling, and when Grim comes in, he faints with Grim replying, "What? What?!". In Toys Will Be Toys, Pud'n stole Dinobonoids Tex, Lazlo, and new team leader, Billy. He mistook Lazlo for a "shiny cupcake", and continuously chewed on him. He found Prof. Gaylord saying, "You're a pretty girl." He sat them down and fed Billy with cookies. In the episode Wishbones he was brutally tortured by a bunny. He actually wished for a pet bunny that would love him, but he had never heard of tough love. It is implied that the rabbit killed him. In A Grim Day, Pud'n starred in a show with Mindy called "The Grim Adventures of Pud'n and Mindy".
Pud'n is definitely not the best fighter. In the episode Wishbones, however, he got the upper hand on his dark opponent when he threw some cake onto the windshield of the truck the evil bunny was driving, causing him to spin out of control. After the bunny wiped it off, he squirted custard from an eclair at the pillow the truck towed and it exploded. This exemplifies Pud'n's major attribute: dark horse victories. He beat Billy, Irwin, Mindy, Sperg, Mandy, and Grim in the race of Go Kart 3000 because everyone else was knocked out of the race, led his little league team to victory in Bad News Ghouls, and beat Billy in a pie eating contest, (although he is allergic to pie, Billy ate all of Pud'n's pies instead of his own). A recurring joke is that when Pud'n is successful he starts to cry, as seen in the episodes Bad News Ghouls and Go Kart 3000. This is because he is afraid that his fans will hurt him. On rare occasions, Pud'n has shown extreme defiance towards his persecutors. When General Skarr stole Grim's scythe and conquered the world, it was Pud'n who physically confronted and defeated Skarr (Pud'n believed Skarr had mutated the local garden inhabiting bunnies into monsters; thereby preventing Pud'n from frolicking with his bunny friends).
It was revealed in Spider Mandy that Pud'n was raised by wolves, a possible reference to Pecos Bill, a midwest myth.
